Last page!

Now maybe some ink ehh?
Some guy came up to me whilst i was painitng this, he said,
"You see those guys over there? Theyre all drug addicts. You wont want to paint them."

Mental note:

Never look directly at a druggie.

And also, don't stick a loaded brush in your mouth.

Nice day, smelly dogs...

I set up right in front of the "dog-park" today. It was fine at first
but when the wind turned... oh boy...

Freezing my socks off in Bryant park.

AND having to endure three bragging loud kids talking about fights, women and prison...

Show at FIT in NYC on the 15th of november.

If you are in the neighborhood, please stop by!

New 40 min quickie.

Yes, the pressure was on!

A small breakthrough...

After visiting the excellent "Brushed with light" exhibit at the Brooklyn museum, I got to study a few of my favorite water colors artists up close. I feel that I'm on the verge of a small "eureka" moment here. Any day/week now...

Around 80 min.

A beautiful day...

in the South Street Sea port! For a few hours, I was standing on the pier in my t shirt, no wind and warm lovely sun on my face. Of course it got cold within minuets. This one took about 4 hours, and absolutley no-one came up to me for a chat. (Except a little girl who was very polite)
Quite the change of pace from Union Square!

A little watercolor from Mad square park

Arches paper

Ah yes, the crowd!

"Free Tibet" demonstration at Union Square. Unfortunately I set up about an hour before they did, and I had no idea, so I basically painted in the middle of a huge crowd. LOADS of very cool and curious children surrounded me and asked questions. If I wanted some alone time, I could just start talking about warms, cools and complimentary colors, and they would scatter for a few min. Great time!

16x20, Masonite

Then wonderful Alessandra came by and fed me some hot tomato/basil soup and a bun. Much needed and very much appreciated!

And my first pleine air (under open sky!) oil done last week in Union square!

This was so much fun to do. first a rock band set up 20 feet from me, then there was the free Tibetan monks demonstration after that for 2 hours. Also 20 feet from my setup. And never trust a sunny day in NYC in October. It may start out nice and warm, but after a few hours I was shaking like a madman from the feezing cold, for I had only brought a shirt... 7 hours in the same spot will break you down quickly!

I have a little half box easel (Bambi) filled to the brim with various art supplies, and I bring some artwork just in case someone is curious.

I enjoy talking to people so don't be shy if you see me! I may look concentrated but a friendly smile will soon change that!

16x20 on board ( really difficult to control the flow of paint on here, but Ill get the hang of it! Eventually...)

Some old oils here...

And here we have some oil colors. Great fun to do. They are mostly on canvas, 9x12 or mylar, about the same size. I use Sennelier, W&N and other various brands of paint, just to fish around to find something i like. Mediums too, I like to experiment, right now its Galkyd, Walnut alkyd and Liquin that I'm trying. All of them speed up drying time (sometimes a little too fast!)

Some old to get started!

Most of these are done around NYC, except for a few done in Sweden visiting my wonderful parents. They are all done on Arches cold/hotpress 140g paper, with W&N artist tube colors.
